This year’s Entoblitz will be held on April 18-20 at the Big Thicket National Preserve (Lance Rosier Unit) near Saratoga, TX. We will have access to the Big Thicket Field Research Station (http://www.bigthicketresearch.org/) which includes restrooms, showers and sleeping accommodations for approximately 24 people. Please indicate in the Comments section of the RSVP Form if you would like a bed.
Additional camping space will be available at the field station. The fee for this event will be $25 and will help defer the cost of accommodations and meals on Saturday (breakfast and dinner).
This year’s event will be unique in that the data collected will contribute to the ongoing Big Thicket ATBI (http://www.thicketofdiversity.org/). A blanket collecting permit for our group has been secured but it will be necessary for all those in attendance to have completed the RSVP form by Friday, April 4th.
As with past Entoblitz trips, attendees will be expected to compile collection lists and The Big Thicket Preserve would like representative samples of species deposited with them. Unique specimens will be issued as a permanent loan to the researcher. Please join us for a great weekend of collecting!
